Our Doctors

The Specialist Medical Centre General Practitioners has been an integral part of the local health community and was established over 38 years ago by Dr John Arena.

Given our location in the heart of North Ryde, we welcome corporate workers, domestic and international travelers, university students and residents of the North Ryde & Macquarie Park surrounding suburbs to our Practice.

At The Specialist Medical Centre, we encourage a positive doctor-patient relationship and hope that your experience as a patient from your first appointment is positive. We allow 10 minutes for a standard consultation, with longer appointments available upon request.

Emphasis is placed on preventative healthcare, good communication with treating specialists & allied health professionals & maximising technology to promote effective communication.

All doctors undergo quality assurance & continuing medical education as directed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. All Doctors at the practice endeavor to have an understanding of the expanding available therapies to treat medical conditions. Maintaining medical education is a welcome challenge.

The Doctors at the specialist medical centre have a good rapport with each other & are willing to liaise & learn form each other when possible. We welcome any suggestions patients may have to improve our practice & we encourage patients input into their medical management.
